Movin' on up

Well, we're getting closer.  We have our walk-through on Wednesday and will be closing on the 16th.  Yesterday we took Cappy out to the house with us, and everything has been completed with the exception of our appliances being installed.  They will be installed before our walk-through on Wednesday.  Cappy made himself right at home, dragging himself across the carpet in the master bedroom.

We were very happy with the master bathroom, as we had been concerned with how the shower would look.  We were also very happy with our carpet choice - although it's not the same type of carpet that we had back in Chatham, the color turned out spectacular and adds a warmth to the room.  Our kitchen is everything we wanted it to bed and we cannot wait to have our french-door fridge!

Most of the items we had already addressed with them have been corrected.  The floor in the guest bathroom needs scrubbed a little bit better, I still think I see poop on the floor.  There were a few stains/spots on the carpet in the study, which needs to be corrected.  It also looked like there was some blood (EW!) on the tile in the master bath, probably from somebody installing the carpet.  Basically, just a few clean-up items are left.  Oh, they've yet to put the shutters on the house yet...I'm hoping that is done by Wednesday so we don't have to complain.

We are very excited about spending time in our backyard - grilling, relaxing and playing with a super cute puppy named Cappy.  The landscaping looks great, I'm just hoping that something they planted blooms into pink flowers! :-)  Chad, on the other hand, is hoping for no pink.

Although we have spent the majority of the weekend relaxing, some light packing has taken place as well.  All of the linens are packed up (other than what is on our bed), and the apartment is starting to look a little bit naked.  I remembered how much I hate moving when I was packing this morning - at least the move to Chatham from Rochester was a fairly easy one.  The move from Illinois to Texas was a pain in the ass, thankfully we had plenty of family willing to help pack.  This time, we're fortunate that we never completely unpacked.  There is still a lot of packing to be done, though.  I'm trying to remember that we will be in the house soon and hopefully won't need to move for a VERY long time!
