O-C-T-O-B-E-R, 31 days, 31 nights...

Holy Cow! Welcome to October!  I cannot believe that the first day of October is coming to an end - it really seems like just yesterday that we moved here and before you know it, we'll be moving out of our apartment! :-)  This morning we stopped by the office to pay one of the fees that we were charged because of breaking our lease.  We found out they've already put our apartment back on the market and they may have somebody interested in it! YAY!  Apparently, we have the only 2 bedroom/2 car garage/2nd story unit available AND the complex is 97% occupied.  The only problem is that the person wants to move in on November 1st, and we weren't planning on moving out until the end of November.  We told them that if we would be out of here by then if they get an occupant for it - that will save us some money!

Unfortunately, we have some frustrations with our house which makes it difficult.  We went to the house this morning and found that the granite and counter-tops have been installed.  There was a chip on the island that bothered both of us, and an imperfection near the stove.  The chip had been filled and was very obvious to us - this is completely unacceptable.  There is absolutely no reason for the granite to be chipped.  We're going to go back by the house tomorrow to look at it again.

We also stopped by the model home and talked to Liz.  To us, it looks like there is about two weeks worth of work to be completed before we can close - and this is very important to us because of the apartment issue.  We also need to start packing and getting ready for the move.  At this point, the builder still has an estimated completion date of November 18th.  UGH!  I understand that he would rather over-estimate than under-estimate, but we're really needing to know when we can get into it - not to mention there are only a few more things that need to be done so it seems extreme to estimate another month until it's complete!  Carpet, appliances, front door, plumbing fixtures and fans need to be installed; landscaping needs to be completed and the shutters need to be put on.  This doesn't seem like a month of work to either of us.  As we all know, it's not our first rodeo!!!

It's absolutely beautiful here today, and the weather is expected to remain very similar to today for the next ten days or so.  It reached a high of 80 degrees today, with a gorgeous breeze.  It was actually chilly this morning when we took Cappy potty.   It was great - I wore blue jeans today and didn't feel hot and gross.  It's sad when you think that 80 degrees is cool, isn't it?!  Right now, we have our windows open and are enjoying the fresh air.  This makes us even more excited to move into our home and enjoy relaxing in our perfect backyard!
