Debriefing

Our life has been pretty crazy lately!  This is what we have been up to lately:

Chad's trip to The Greenbrier Resort - Chad went on a company trip to The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia for work.  It was tough having him gone for nearly a week, but Charleigh and I managed on our own.  I discovered that it's becoming more and more difficult for me to do simple tasks, such as bathe Charleigh on my own.  Chad had a good time golfing and said that it was absolutely beautiful there.

Dad's Hospitalization - One Monday I received a nerve-wracking phone call from my brother, with very little information.  I had a bad gut feeling.  Dad was being rushed to the Emergency Room with stroke-like symptoms.  He was admitted overnight for observation, and all tests came back looking good.  The official diagnosis was a mini-stroke or TIA.  Thankfully he's had no complications and is recovering well.  It served as a wake-up call to him and he vows to take better care of himself.  He told all the nurses that he had to "get the hell outta here for my Charleigh June." :-)  She's definitely her Grumpa's favorite little hurricane.

The New House - The new house is looking really good.  Framing is nearly complete and windows have been installed.  They are anticipating sheetrock around the beginning of September.

Selling the House - This has been a stressful situation for us.  We've had a decent number of showings and positive feedback.  I keep reminding myself that people don't make the decision to spend such a large amount of money on a whim.  I've discovered how tough it is to rush around to prepare the house for a showing while Chad is as work.  Whew!  We have an open house scheduled on Sunday, and have received one ridiculous offer.  Hopefully we'll get a legit offer soon! :-)

Charleigh's Eye Doctor Appointment - Charleigh's pediatrician referred us to a Pediatric Ophthalmologist since she still occasionally has issues with clogged tear ducts.  Her appointment went well, and he said that the warm compresses and massage has resolved the issue.  He did say, however, that she is already a bit near-sighted.  This is unusual because at this age children tend to be far-sighted.  He told us to watch her and bring her back in a year, as it may correct itself over time.

Anatomy Scan - We had our 20 week anatomy scan for the twins.  At my 12 week appointment, my high risk doctor said that it appeared that the babies were boy and girl - we were curious as to whether this was really the case.  Dr. Gei is good ... Baby A is a girl, Campbelle {Belle} Rose.  Baby B is a boy, Coleson {Cole} Richard.  This was a relief to us, as we'd been having a difficult time agreeing on a name for the boy.  Originally, we'd planned on Carter but with it being a top 20 name we weren't sold on it.  We ended up going with our second boy's name, as it was the only thing that we could agree on! (HA HA)  Both babies, unlike Charleigh, have a three vessel cord and appear to be growing well.  The only concerning thing that was found was that Coleson has a dilated (enlarged) kidney.  If this does not resolve itself by a certain time, he will be followed by a kidney specialist and may need kidney surgery in the future.  Obviously, they're monitoring me closely anyway since it's a multiple gestation pregnancy and history of preterm labor issues.  Babies will be having frequent growth scans, in addition to keeping an eye on Coleson's kidneys.

The Miracle Baby Project - A photographer from The Woodlands is doing a gallery called "The Miracle Baby Project."  She had many applicants and hand-picked a few stories to be featured in the gallery along with pictures of the families.  We were fortunate enough to be one of the lucky families!  We picked one of the last available dates, to make sure my belly was big & ripe!  This required us getting out of the house by 6am on a Sunday morning and making the drive to Old Town Spring.  It was a horrifically humid morning, and all three of us were utterly exhausted but the pictures turned out amazing!  Follow the link for a sneak peak...

That is pretty much the extent of our life nowadays.  We have a lot to do in preparation of the twins, and it's hard to believe that we will be meeting these two sweet peas in less than 17 weeks!!!
