Celebrate Good Times...

This past weekend, we had two open houses.  Both on Saturday and Sunday.  Chad hosted Saturday, while I crashed at my friend's home with the critters and Charleigh.  During Saturday's open house he had three couples come in, one of which was very interested.  They wanted to buy the home for their parents, but if their parents didn't like it, they wanted it.  It was a strange thing.  Unfortunately, they wanted to wait until our contract ran out with our realtor in order to save more money.  Chad looked into that and it would be a breech of our contract.  Thankfully, they said they'd be back on Sunday and Chad was going to explain to them then.

On Sunday, I was throughly exhausted and Charleigh was too.  I decided we weren't going to vacate the property, but we would hide upstairs with the critters.  We ended up having four couples/families come through. The first ones seemed pretty interested, and they were super nice - very understanding about us hiding out upstairs.  In fact, they weren't the least bit bothered by it.  The husband had a few questions for Chad and then he & his wife went in the backyard and talked for awhile.  We felt hopeful after they left.
The second family was Asian, and from San Francisco.  Apparently, the wife hates Indians.  She made this abundantly clear multiple times. It was actually awkward for us.  I just sat upstairs giggling to myself. They went in the backyard to look at it and saw our next door neighbors.  Let's just say they couldn't run fast enough.  Chad attempted to explain to them that our neighbors, even though they're Indians, are absolutely great.  They keep to themselves, they aren't loud, etc.  oh well...
The third family was super nice as well.  They actually moved here from Chicago, so we had some stuff in common.  We talked to then for quite awhile, and they even played with Charleigh and Cappy.  The wife appeared to be more serious than the husband, but whatever.
After they left, the couple from yesterday came to the house.  They were interesting.  It was apparent they were trying to steal our house.  Uh, no.  They didn't seem to understand the reality of breaching the contract.  Annoying and disappointing, to say the least.

I was depressed on Sunday night.  I ate dinner, bathed Charleigh, and went to bed.  Pouting,  of course. This wasn't going to work out in our favor - we were going to have to opt out of our new house this very week.  There was a lot of crying, but I finally fell asleep.  I cried driving to Charleigh's doctor appointment, and on the way back.  Once I put Charleigh to bed, I went to lay down.  The phone rang - it was Chad, he sounded happy.  Apparently, a realtor called ours this morning and wanted to know if we'd consider a contingent contract.  We weren't sure that it would be acceptable with the Ryland contract, but we decided we'd consider it.  We anxiously waited all day.  Around 8pm Joe called again and told us that the buyers were approved to buy the house without selling their current home!!!  That meant we had to wait...

Tuesday morning we recieved the official offer - a full price (actually above) offer, with a closing date of 9/30/15. We decided to accept it.  And the best part is, it was the family that we really liked! That makes the process easier.  Now we need to secure a rental property through December.  We actually thought we'd found one, and we're very happy with it, but they ended up securing a one-year lease.  It is what it is....

Back to square one...
