Update

This Week’s Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 12 weeks, 5 days!

 Size of Baby: baby is the size of a peach

 Total Weight Gain or Loss: At my last OB appointment on the 22nd, I had lost 4 pounds.  It will be interesting to see what the scale says at my next appointment...

 Maternity Clothes: When I wear jeans I definitely wear maternity jeans, but I don't wear much other than yoga pants.

 Gender: Hoping to find out at my appointment with the MFM on Wednesday, if not, we will hopefully find out on the 13th

 Movements: C moves around a lot!  At our last appointment on Monday, C was sucking its thumb.  I swear sometimes that I can feel C moving around in there.

 Sleep: I still sleep better during the day than I do at night, but I think I'm sleeping better at night.  My biggest gripe is difficulty getting comfortable in bed. Boo!

 What I Miss:  My nightly glass of wine & multiple cups of coffee.

 Cravings: Burgers, cheese, Panda Express (huge disappointment, might I add),  gas station burritos, pizza, Olive Garden (yummmm!), cookies, and Mickey Waffles.

Symptoms:  The nausea has let up, but I still have food aversions.  Other than that, there's not much else - I guess that's a good thing though!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The past few weeks have been, for the most part, uneventful.
I had my 3 week appointment with Dr Heaps and had a few important discussions with him.  In turn, he had a big discussion with me...
DC:  Glucose Tolerance Test - thankfully, he won't force me to drink that nasty shit.  Instead I will do the jelly bean test.  (Still sounds gross, but not as bad)
DC:  Elective CSection - he's open to it if I really want it, but he seems to think I can go vaginal.  Pretty sure I laughed in his face.
BH: Told me he was leaving the practice,  at that time it was still on the dl, but that has changed.  I received a phone call from him four days later regarding his new office.
I may have had a minor freak out with that.  I didn't really know what to think, but I knew I didn't want to lose him.  Basically, I'll go wherever I have to go to keep him as long as its not the county hospital! Lol.  I have a few things I will be discussing with him at my next appointment.
Last Sunday, we had a stressful day.  Penny wasn't breathing well and we rushed her to the Kitty ER. Lets say that's $1000 we won't get back.  They admitted her for the day and discharged her late in the evening,  I took Monday off so that I could keep an eye on her.  After you spend that much money, you want to protect your investment.  Thankfully, the little drama queen was fine on Monday.  We decided to cancel her surgery for awhile though.  Hopefully, we will be going home sometime soon and can have her surgery done there.  While we love Dr Smith, Mark Sturdy is much cheaper! (And we love him too!). We will probably drop a lot of money there when we visit.
Last Monday was graduation day from HFI, and I cried my eyes out.  These people have been a huge part of our lives the past year, and although it's reassuring to be discharged,it's bittersweet. I told Dr Williams that I was no longer special, but merely a normal pregnant lady.  They gave me a graduation gift - a HFI tote bag (that I'm carrying with pride) and a HFI onesie for Baby C.
Tomorrow will be the first Monday that I don't have a doctors appointment, and it seriously scares the shit out of me.  I do see the specialist on Wednesday for my nuchal scan, but its still strange.  In one week I will be 32 years old, so I'm trying to figure out what to do for my birthday.  I'm not even sure where I want to eat this year!  We have our first appointment at Dr Heaps new office on the 13th, so we are hoping and praying that we will know the gender by that time!!!
Chad spent all weekend working, which put a kink in our plans.  We had hoped to decorate for Christmas, start registering for Baby C, and work on our Christmas lists.  As usual, however, work comes before anything we want to do.  Sigh.  I really hope work doesn't interfere with Baby C's birth!
