Road Trip - Takes 1 & Take 2

On Valentine's Day, we packed up the Expedition and headed down to Corpus Christi.  Chad had to spend the week down there, so we decided that the kids and I (and Cappy) would tag along.  This was our first attempt (and most likely last for quite awhile) at a road trip with all three kids.
The drive down there didn't go so well.  Around Wharton everybody started screaming.  Since Chad had a tv in the bed of his work truck, the drive took longer than it should have.  It was an absolutely painful drive.  By the time we checked into the hotel all I wanted to do was drink and sleep.
Unfortunately, Charleigh had other plans. After we ate dinner, we put everybody to bed, but Charleigh June had no part of that. We put her pack & play on the other side of the bedroom partition (the twins were with us), but instead of sleeping she kept playing, crying and bugging the twins.  Eventually we decided to let her sleep with us.
That definitely wasn't the best idea.  She was so excited to be in bed with us that she wouldn't lay down, and instead caused me to be up all night.  She eventually fell asleep, but her sleeping left me with very little sleep.  In typical Charleigh   fashion, she woke up with Chad's alarm and woke the babies up as well.
That was more than enough for me.  I packed most of our stuff up, loaded the kids & dog in the truck and hit the road.
Although I was exhausted, this trip went much better that the previous day.  Probably because the kids were all exhausted as well.  Unfortunately, I hit a curb in the neighborhood & completely jacked up my tire less than two miles from home.  That will teach me to drive while exhausted again.
What lessons did we learn from this?
1. Road trips with three kids under two can be absolutely brutal.
2. Make sure any hotel room in the future is a suite so we can put Charleigh in a separate room.
3. You need a lot of stuff for three kids under two
4. Don't let Charleigh sleep with you.
5. Don't drive while utterly exhausted.
6. Watch the curbs
